EndNote
EndNote is a software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies. It enables a student to search online bibliographic databases, organise references, images and PDFs in any language, and create bibliographies and figure lists instantly. Instead of spending hours typing bibliographies, or using index cards to organize references, a student can do it using EndNote.
The Graduate School of Spiritual Formation (Sentir), as a Recognised Reaching Institution of the MCD University of Divinity, can supply Sentir students with EndNote.
The Carmelite Library is the central resource for Sentir. The Library holds two copies of EndNote version 2 for Windows and two copies of EndNote version 2 for Macintosh. The Library is the distribution centre for these CDs, i.e. you can only get them by coming into the Library. The address and contact details are:
Carmelite Library
214 Richardson Street
Middle Park Vic. 3206
Tel : (03) 9682 8553
Email: librarian@carmelitelibrary.org
If you want a copy, please email or phone the Librarian, Philip Harvey. He will give you a time when you can come to the Carmelite library to pick up a copy of the software. As numbers are limited, you may find you have to wait your turn. Please add your name to the request list and we can notify you when a copy of EndNote is available.
When collecting the EndNote CD to copy, you will sign a Declaration Form. This Form is sent to MCD for its records. A second copy is kept at the Library.
You require the following in order to be able to operate EndNote:
1. The EndNote Product Key.
2. The EndNote Installation Guide.
Both of these can be taken when you collect your CD, or we can email them to you.
We encourage EndNote users to return your CDs promptly after making your copy, as others are in the line.
There are workshops on how to use EndNote and it is recommended that a user avail himself or herself of such instruction.
NOTE: An MCD Postgraduate Information Day will be held at Whitley College, from 10.30am to 3.30pm on the 12th of March 2009. A comprehensive 45-minute session on EndNote will be held during the day.
Alternatively there are online tutorials which are useful. These can be found at:
